Slurpy and saucy! Our chilli crab sauce is made in-house with the freshest ingredients such as chillis, lemongrass, ginger, shallots and other good things. Ours is spicy so get ready for a nice kick!It’s hard to imagine a time without Singapore Chilli Crab, as it’s truly iconic in our culinary landscape! The dish’s origins are usually traced back to the 1950s, when a hawker named Cher Yam Tian first started selling stir-fried crabs with a bottled chilli sauce from a pushcart. Her husband, Lim Choon Ngee, suggested she add tomato sauce to her recipe, which created the distinct sweet and savory flavor we know today. Their success led them to open the famous Palm Beach Seafood restaurant. Another notable figure in the chilli crab story is Hooi Kok Wah, one of the "four culinary kings" of Singapore, who is credited with refining the sauce to include sambal, vinegar, and plum sauce, further solidifying its place as a national dish.The Singapore Chilli Crab Pasta Tray is an ode to this legendary origin.
