I've always loved meringues and I find the EGG to be a magical ingredient in the kitchen! Just from a baking perspective, the eggs creates wonders to a cake or a cookie. It adds volume, moisture, crumb, texture and mouthfeel–basically the egg does a lot of good to a baked product.Take the egg white alone–From a nutrition perspective, egg whites contain protein, though not as much protein in the yolk. Therefore, the egg white has a much higher protein-to-calorie ratio than whole eggs - making it a super food!OK so let's talk about meringues, the beautiful fluffy, cloud-like result when you whip egg whites with some sugar. These All Things Delicious Meringue Fingers are perfect little pick-me-ups in the mid morning, mid afternoon and anytime in between! Our chefs treat these egg whites will lots of tender loving care, baking them in a slow oven. These bake for over 3 hours to turn them into these wonderful little treats!
